Join us as we celebrate Whitby’s diversity through shared recipes and stories!

Submit your favourite recipe and share the cultural traditions or personal stories that make these dishes special.

Submissions can include:

  • Family recipes passed down through generations
  • Dishes that reflect cultural heritage
  • Meals that bring joy to the table

This initiative was developed in partnership with the Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee (DIAC) to celebrate Whitby’s unique diversity and unite the community through the shared experience of food.

All recipes will be featured on this Seat At The Table: Recipes And Stories From Whitby Neighbours Connect Whitby page, designed to showcase the flavours and traditions that make Whitby a vibrant and inclusive community.


Get Involved

  1. Submit Your Recipe: Share your favorite recipe and the story behind it using the submission tool below! Be sure to include its country of origin. You can also upload a photo of your dish or a treasured family recipe card. Please only share images you own the rights to—avoid using cookbook photos or copyrighted materials.
  2. Interact With Other Recipes: Browse recipes shared by other residents, leave a like to show your appreciation.
  3. Spread the Word: Share this initiative with family and friends to inspire more submissions and connections.
