Being an active participant in the Town of Whitby’s community engagement ensures your voice is heard and your ideas can be used to develop and deliver quality programs and services – now and for the future.
During the course of our projects we will:
Inform – we’ll share information with you to build awareness and understanding
Consult – we will listen to you and learn from what you share with us
Involve – we will work with you to make sure your ideas are reflected in our decision making
Collaborate – we will look to you for advice, recommendations and innovations
Quick and Easy – we aim to make our engagement opportunities quick, easy and even fun! Your time is precious, so we’ll keep it short and sweet.
Community Engagement Framework
We developed a Community Engagement Framework that is meaningful, actionable and inclusive. It is based on the success of the Town’s engagement to date, research into best practices from other municipalities and leverages the Public Participation Spectrum developed by the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2).
