Thank you to the more than 650 people who shared their feedback on the use of fireworks in Whitby earlier this year.

In reviewing the data, we learned residents have mixed feelings about fireworks use. Survey respondents were split almost 50/50 on whether they enjoy fireworks.

We need a little more feedback from our community to help inform Council’s upcoming decision on possible changes to the Town’s fireworks regulations and by-law.

Next Steps

This second round of feedback will be presented to Council as they make a decision on possible changes to the Town’s fireworks regulations and the by-law in early 2023.

A reminder that fireworks in Whitby are currently only permitted on private property on New Years’ Eve, New Years’ Day, Victoria Day, Canada Day and Diwali from dusk to 11 p.m.
