Whitby Waste Collection Calendar - Have Your Say!

The Town of Whitby is seeking community feedback on whether it should go paperless with its annual Waste Collection Calendar, currently being printed and mailed to all Whitby households each spring. Information from the calendar would continue to be made available online and through the Waste Buddy app.

Why It Matters

The Town is committed to reducing waste wherever possible and operating in an environmentally friendly way. Other municipalities have realized a number of benefits of putting their waste calendar exclusively online. These include: saving trees, reducing costs, decreasing carbon impacts and real-time communication.

We are also committed to providing residents with information on Town services the way in which they want to receive it. Through our 2020 Community Survey, the majority of participants indicated they prefer to receive Town updates through digital channels, like the website and social media.

Get Involved

We want to hear from you on whether you support Whitby going paperless with its annual Waste Collection Calendar. We also want to learn more about how you currently access your waste collection information. Have your say:

Those who complete the survey will have the opportunity to enter a draw to win one of two $50 gift cards to shop in Downtown Whitby.

Next Steps

Feedback collected will help to inform the Town's recommendation on whether to continue with the printed Waste Collection Calendar. This recommendation is expected to be brought forward to Council later this year.
