As one of the fastest growing communities in Ontario, North Whitby needs more electricity to support future growth and connectivity.
The Town has declared a parcel of land at 150 Winchester Road West - between Amanda Avenue and Winchester Road - in South Brooklin as surplus and is considering its conveyance to Elexicon Energy Inc. to build an electrical substation. This process is known as a land disposition.
The proposed substation would support the construction of up to 5,000 new homes in the community.

Here's an image of an existing electrical substation. A similar structure would be considered for this site.
