The Town of Whitby is rethinking the way it manages waste by evaluating current waste reduction practices and developing a Re-Think Waste Plan. The Plan will help create smarter, more sustainable waste practices at Town facilities and in shared community spaces, including parks and trails.
Why Re-Think Waste?
The Plan will:
- Determine the actions the Town can take to reduce and prevent waste, and
- Establish a standardized design for all public-facing waste bins.
Next Steps
Feedback from the August 2025 survey will be used to inform the development of the Town of Whitby’s Re-Think Waste Plan, which is planned to be presented to Council in April 2026.
